This paper discusses theoretically practically related to learning Indonesian language skills in elementary school in the 2013 Curriculum study. The method used in the preparation of this paper is a reference study, a study of literature from various sources that are considered relevant to the objectives to be achieved. The results obtained that the role of Indonesian language subjects became dominant, namely as a channel that delivers the material content of all sources of competence to students. Indonesian language subjects are placed as defenders of other subjects. Language learning in the 2013 curriculum based on text brings methodological implications to gradual learning.
