Abstract

:The purposeof thestudy wasto describe the abilityto write narrative essay of fifth grade student of SD Negeri 3 Margodadi Jati Agung Lampung selatan. This research uses quantitative methods.Whilethe techniqueof datacollectionis theassigment technique. The population of this study amounted to 29 students and the numberof samples was determined by entirepopulation,namely 29 students. Analyze data using percentages. The results of this studyindicate(1) the average value of the ability to write narrative essayof fifthgrade elementary school students is 75.44, including in good category.(2) the ability of students to write narrative essays in theaspect of suitability of the theme as a whole is classified as very good and good.(3) the ability of students in the conformity aspect oftehe cotentwhith the title is very good. (4) students’ abilities in the suitability aspects of the type of essay are classified as very good. (5) ability in the aspect of the accuracy of ideas in paragraups is classified as very good. Students’ abilities in the aspect of the accuracy of the composition of sentences belong to the good category. (6) the ability of students in the aspect of the overall choice of words is very good. (7) students’ abilities in terms of the accuracy of spelling use fall into the good category.
