UPAYA PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SISWA MELALUI KOMPETENSI GURU SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

The role of the teacher is very important in the learning process, as well as in advancing the world of education. Character plays an important role in daily life and therefore in schools today it is emphasized to apply character education to every learning. One of the teacher's competencies is also needed one of them as an effort to form student's character. Teacher competency based on Law Number 14 of 2005 which is further regulated in Government Regulation Number 19 of 2005, teachers must have pedagogical, personal, professional, and social competencies. The competence of the teacher is closely related to the ability to develop student character in learning. Because teachers who have good competence surely understand how to apply the character of students in each learning. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that for the development of student character through teacher competence can be done including providing training / workshops for teachers, periodic tests as a measure of teacher competence, and supervision by the supervisory team. The hope is to improve the quality of student character for the better.
